Types of fats in the human body 


   There are many types of fats in the human body, including the following: 

  • Brown fat: Skinny people have a greater proportion of brown fat compared to people who are overweight or obese , and children have more brown fat than adults, which helps to keep the body warm. 

  • White fat: White fat is present in a greater amount in the body compared to brown fat, as it works to store energy and produce hormones that are excreted in the bloodstream, and small fat cells secrete a hormone called adiponectin that makes both the liver and muscles sensitive to the hormone insulin, which reduces the risk Diabetes and heart disease. 

  • Subcutaneous fat: Subcutaneous fat is measured using a skin fold caliper to estimate total body fat. Subcutaneous fat in the thighs and buttocks is not considered bad, but subcutaneous fat in the abdominal area may cause many problems. 

  • Visceral fat: visceral fat is centered around the internal organs in the body, which leads to an increased risk of many diseases including diabetes, heart disease , stroke and even dementia, and visceral fat plays a role in the occurrence of insulin resistance, which increases the risk Having diabetes. 

  • Abdominal fat : Abdominal fat is considered unhealthy, as it increases the chance of insulin resistance and affects the level of blood fat, which increases the risk of diabetes, and abdominal fat can be determined through a tomography. 

  • Fat of the thighs and buttocks: where fat accumulates in the abdomen in men, but in women it accumulates in the thighs and buttocks.
