As for the excess of the body's need for it, it is preserved in the liver or muscle in order to benefit from it when the energy level in the body decreases.
Types of carbohydrates
The types of carbohydrates are classified according to the composition of the sugars they contain.
- Simple carbohydrates, which are the different types of sugars found in fruits, vegetables, yogurt and its products.
- Complex carbohydrates, often found in whole grains and their products, and various types of legumes, vegetables and fruits of starchy texture.
Sources of carbohydrates
- Natural food As mentioned above, carbohydrates are found in a large portion of fruits, vegetables, legumes and cereals, but their presence in these foods varies from one variety to another, and among the most foods that contain carbohydrates:

- Raisin, as a raisin full of raisins contains about 33 grams of carbohydrates, and a gram and a half of fiber, in addition to 123 calories.
- Whole wheat bread, as a small portion contains about 13.6 grams of carbohydrates.
